MedSync Tracking (“MedSync,” “we,” “us”) is a household medication tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
MedSync is a tracking tool and does not provide medical advice. Always follow instructions from your healthcare provider.
1) What we collect
Information you provide
- Household and profile info: household name/ID, display name, and role (e.g., admin/patient).
- Medication details: medication name, dosage, schedule/times, category, notes, and refill-related info.
- Activity history: events like when a dose is marked taken, reminders sent/answered, snoozes, and refill status changes.
Photos (optional)
If you choose to add a medication by taking a photo, the app may process the image to extract medication details. Avoid photographing unnecessary personal identifiers.
Device/app data
We may collect basic technical data required to operate the app reliably (e.g., timestamps, device platform, app version, and diagnostic logs if an error occurs).
2) How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide app functionality (medication schedules, reminders, refill tracking, and history).
- Sync household information across authorized devices.
- Generate reports you request, including PDF adherence/history reports.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
3) How sharing works inside a household
MedSync is designed so that members of the same household can view and update shared medication tracking data, depending on their role and permissions. Admins may have additional controls (e.g., editing medications, managing refills).
4) Where data is stored
MedSync uses cloud services (including Google Firebase) to store and sync data between devices in the same household.
5) When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- With your household members as part of app functionality.
- With service providers that help operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting/database).
- If you choose to export/share a report (for example, emailing a PDF to a clinician).
- If required by law, or to protect the security and integrity of the app.
6) Data retention
Household data is retained until it is deleted by a household admin or until the household is removed. Some limited technical logs may persist briefly for security and debugging.
7) Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. Use the app only for information you are comfortable storing and sharing with household members.
8) Your choices
You can:
- Edit or delete medications and related data within the app (depending on permissions).
- Export a PDF report to share with a clinician.
- Remove household members (admin-only) or delete the household (admin-only).
9) Children
MedSync is intended for household use. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will help address the issue.
